Formally known as “Awkwurd”, TRAVERSE debuts with her latest track ‘Remember.’ It’s a dubstep banger that features two styles of drops, melodic and heavy. The song released on Saturday, October 24, 2026 and is available on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify.
The Artistry of ‘Remember’
‘Remember’ song starts off with an impact sound effect accompanied by an eerie, slow, syncopated piano that plays the melody of forthcoming vocals. The song’s overall tone is a beautiful, spacious, cinematic soundscape. A slow uplifter and thick reverbs help achieve this.
The song quickly leads into a rich reese bass that supports the lulling tones of a female vocalist. Her vocals are soft and intimate, as if she’s talking to the listener. Sharp hats and a crunchy snare add a subtle industrial aesthetic to the track. A bell-like synth provides a backing melody which strengthens the overall ominous vibes.
Transitioning to the song’s build (build-up), the song quiets as the vocals pick up. At the same time, the vocalist pulls away from the mic, transitioning to a less intimate singing style. A filtered, light kick drum joins in on the second stanza of lyrics, which TRAVERSE uses as a riser.
The drop hits hard with a sharp, saw-like wobble bass ripping through the track. The slow 1/4 LFO bass plays sustained notes, supporting the sustained treble chords. The vocalist’s wailing vocals add more flavor to the drop’s second-half section.

A dancing, rhythmic snare energy and 2-note melody keep the song moving during the drop-break. They are accompanied by an airy noise riser and laser riser, creating an energetic build-up. However, the real treat is the bass that gives us a taste of what’s coming. The sounds crescendo into a stuttering pre-drop vocal of the word ‘Remember.’
Even with the build-up’s foreshadowing bass line, the second drop hits the listener like a brick wall. A two-note bass synth welcomes the listener into the filthy chaos as short, sharp bass wubs pierce through the song. Multiple bass combinations keep the track interesting with a tearout dubstep vibe. It is the heaviest of the song’s three drops.
The song falls into the second verse like a gloomy calm after a storm. Its vocals and backing instruments mirror the intimate style of the first verse but with different lyrics and vocal runs. Like previously, the kick drum and uplifter effects build up to the drop.
Very little changes between the first and last drops, as the final drop is like a replayed memory of the first. Perhaps minor details shift, but the overall idea remains the same. Moreover, each instrument, vocal, and sound has a haunting and cold quality. Interestingly, TRAVERSE didn’t create a following drop, since the song shifts into the outro.
The outro is short, made of the first stanza of vocals from the song’s build-up. The vocals calmly bring the song to a solemn end.
Theming Within ‘Remember’
Duality is a theme represented within the track. If most of the song, including the first and third drops, represents the light, the second drop embodies darkness. This theme is also reflected in the song’s album cover and promotional videos.
The song’s cover shows a person, perhaps TRAVERSE herself, standing in the middle of the skyline. However, the scene is bisected into day and night. Most of the song exists within the daytime portion of this mystical city. Even still, the lighter section has a dark, lonely quality about it. The second drop is what it’s like to step into the city’s night side: dark, intense, and dangerous.
TRAVERSE’s first promotional video featured a small segment of the first drop. It showcased one of the floating rocks centered amongst the daytime sky. The second video samples the second drop, where two stones float in front of the night sky. However, this video cuts to “dubstep lyrics” of the drop, putting more focus on the drop itself.
This duality seems to represent concepts about remembering or being remembered. The brighter sections sound hopeful, yet uncertainty or sadness remains. It’s as if TRAVERSE is expressing the bittersweet aspects of remembering. On the other hand, the second drop seems to express anger and emotional turbulence. Almost like remembering can invoke anger and hatred.
